Seorang saksi mata, Arif mengungkapan awalnya tubuhnya merunduk terus sedikit-sedikit.

Memasuki ayat keempat Surat Al-Mulk tiba-tiba suaranya semakin rendah dan tak terdengar lagi.

Tubuhnya kemudian jatuh ke depan.

Dalam video itu, terlihat Ustadz Ja'far terdiam setelah membacakan ayat 2 surat Al Mulk.

Ayat 2 surat tersebut terjemahannya adalah, "Yang menjadikan mati dan hidup, supaya Dia menguji kamu, siapa di antara kamu yang lebih baik amalnya. Dan Dia Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Pengampun,."

Kemudian, tubuhnya bergetar dan kian lama semakin merunduk.

Orang-orang di sekeliling pun langsung mengerubunginya.

Ustadz Ja'far Abdul Rahman yang meninggal saat membacakan doa di haul keluarga Khofifah Indar Parawansa ternyata tetangga Khofifah.

Menurut penjelasan Khofifah, ustaz Ja'far sudah seringkali membacakan doa ketika acara Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulamaataupun kegiatan internal NU lain.

"Beliau ini tetangga saya. Hampir 98 persen di tiap acara saya, saya selalu mengajak beliau," ujar Khofifah kepada Surya di sela acara yang berlangsung di Jemursari, Surabaya, Senin (24/4/2017).

Ketua Umum PP Muslimat NU tersebut menuturkan, alasan memilih ustadz Ja'far karena dianggap mumpuni dalam membaca Alquran.

"Kami selalu memilih memberdayakan masyarakat sekitar," beber Khofifah yang juga Menteri Sosial Republik Indonesia ini.

Ia kaget ustadz Ja'far meninggal saat membaca Surat Al-Mulk.

Khofifah berharap ustadz Ja'far meninggal dalam keadaan khusnul khatimah.

Umat Islam meyakini mereka yang meninggal khusnul Khatimah diyakini akan masuk surga.

"Jadi, kita tadi kaget, terkejut luar biasa. Waktu sampai di ayat kedua, beliau kemudian terdiam. Kita semua tolah-toleh (bingung). Ternyata, ustadz Ja'far berpulang," Khofifah melanjutkan ceritanya.

Khofifah dan jemaah mendoakan Allah menerima seluruh amal baik ustadz Ja'far saat membaca Alquran dan pada acara yang penuh berkah.

"Kan seperti ini, (Khofifah kemudian membaca bunyi surat Al Mulk ayat kedua), dari maknanya saja beliau ini ada firasat baik bahwa beliau meninggal dunia dalam khusnul khatimah," kata dia.

Berikut terjemahan tiga ayat pertama Surat Al-Mulk yang dibaca ustadz Ja'far:

تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Maha Suci Allah Yang di tangan-Nya-lah segala kerajaan, dan Dia Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu,

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

Yang menjadikan mati dan hidup, supaya Dia menguji kamu, siapa di antara kamu yang lebih baik amalnya. Dan Dia Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Pengampun,

الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنْ تَفَاوُتٍ ۖ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِنْ فُطُورٍ

Yang telah menciptakan tujuh langit berlapis-lapis. Kamu sekali-kali tidak melihat pada ciptaan Tuhan Yang Maha Pemurah sesuatu yang tidak seimbang. Maka lihatlah berulang-ulang, adakah kamu lihat sesuatu yang tidak seimbang?
