hidup Rudi Suryanto (59) terbilang panjang dan berliku. Rudi lahir dari
lingkungan keluarga non muslim. Sebagai seorang pekerja keras ia
akhirnya bisa menikmati hidup bergelimang harta.
Kehidupan rumah tangganya dulu terbilang harmonis. Ia menikahi wanita yang sama-sama warga keturunan. Tahun 80 an cerita perjalanan berat Rudi dimulai.
Ditemui di Masjid Cheng Ho, Jakabaring, Palembang. Rudi tampak sedang bekerja. Satu persatu sepatu dan sandal jamaah disusunnya dengan rapi. Sesekali ia juga menyapu halaman masjid.
Mengenakan kaus bola timnas Indonesia dipadu celana kain panjang serta peci putih yang melekat di kepalanya. Ia tampak duduk sambil menjaga sepatu dan sandal jamaah.
Ayah satu anak tersebut telah bekerja di masjid Cheng Ho selama empat tahun. Sebelumnya ia adalah pengusaha sukses yang memiliki banyak harta.
Kisahnya berawal dari pernikahan dengan sesama warga keturunan. Bertahun-tahun menikah ia tak juga mendapatkan keturunan. Sampai akhirnya ia mendapatkan pengalaman spiritual yang terus berulang.
Ia sering merasa seperti dilempar batu dari arah belakang saat berada di rumahnya.
“Saya tidak tahu siapa yang melempar saya, tetapi lemparan tersebut terasa sangat menyakitkan dan yang anehnya ketika saya melihat ke belakang tidak ada pelakunya”, jelasnya.
Merasa ada sesuatu yang aneh ia merasa gelisah. Disaat gelisah itulah, Rudi tertarik mempelajari Islam.
“Saya sebelumnya tidak mengenal apa itu agama Islam, sampai akhirnya hati dan pikiran saya seperti mendorong untuk mempelajari islam”, tegasnya.
Sambil mata berkaca – kaca ia bercerita keinginannya untuk mendalami Islam sudah tidak bisa ditunda. Akhirnya ia memutuskan untuk memeluk agama islam pada tahun 1983.
Setelah menjadi seorang mualaf ia juga pernah bermimpi. Didalam mimpinya ia bertemu dengan seseorang yang mengajaknya untuk melihat keadaan surga dan neraka.
“Di dalam surga semua terasa indah tidak bisa saya ceritakan melalui perkataan akan keindahan tersebut, sedangkan saat memasuki neraka ia melihat api yang membara – bara membakar setiap orang yang seperti mempunyai kesalahan semasa hidupnya”, tegasnya.
Telah banyak mendapatkan pengalaman spiritual, ia pun semakin belajar untuk mendekatkan diri kepada pencipta. Namun keputusannya menjadi mualaf membuatnya harus kehilangan istri.
Sang istri menentang keputusan tersebut. Apalagi untuk ikut suaminya menjadi mualaf.
“Istri saya tidak mau ikut bersama saya,” jelasnya
Rudi akhirnya bercerai dengan istrinya. Ia mencoba menguatkan hatinya dengan terus berbuat baik dan menjalankan ibadah salat. Selain kehilangan istri, Rudi juga dijauhi keluarganya sendiri.
Rudi kembali menemukan jodohnya yang juga seorang wanita mualaf. Wanita pujaan hatinya itu akhirnya dipersunting dan menjadi istrinya.
Pernikahan keduanya itu tidaklah melepaskan dirinya dari kepahitan masa lalunya. Rudi yang percaya pada istrinya tak ragu untuk memberikan semua hartanya pada istri.
Semua atas nama istrinya. Cobaan lagi-lagi menghampiri. Kehadiran pihak ketiga menjadi awal kehancuran rumah tangga barunya. Bermula ketika temannya yang sering datang ke rumah.
Tak disangka temannya tersebut menjadi pria idaman lain istrinya. Dengan berat hati Rudi mengakui bahwa istrinya berselingkuh dengan temannya sendiri.
Merasa dicurangi ia memutuskan untuk menceraikan istrinya. Perceraian kedua baginya. Harta yang sudah diatasnamakan kepada istrinya membuat Rudi pergi tanpa membawa harta sedikitpun.
Iman yang kuat membuatnya seperti mendapat lindungan dari Allah SWT. Diusianya yang telah menua, pria yang tinggal di Jalan Harapan Jaya Kecamatan Kalidoni tersebut kembali menemukan jodoh.
Seorang wanita bisa menerima keadaannya. Mereka akhirnya melangsungkan pernikahan. Dari dua pernikahan sebelumnya Rudi tak dikaruniai anak.
Kali ini Rudi telah memiliki 1 orang anak yang kini sudah duduk dibangku Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) kelas 2. Dalam keadaan yang sulit ia merasa kalau dirinya sekarang lebih dari bahagia.
“Saya sekarang kaya hati dan bukanlah kaya harta”, tuturnya dengan nada pelan.
Kini ia mencari rezeki untuk menafkahi keluarga dengan menjadi petugas kebersihan masjid. Penghasilan yang tak kecil tidaklah membuatlah goyah dan menyesal, ia merasa lebih bahagia sekarang.
“Kebahagian saya tidak bisa dibeli dengan uang, saya merasa sangat dekat dengan sang maha pencipta ketika saya berada di masjid dan salat berjamaah”, pungkasnya Rudi.
